April 2023: Wacom Intuos Pro Tablet

I just added a Wacom Intuos Pro Creative Pen Tablet (Medium) my creative and photo editing toolkit. Very excited to see how this highly recommended piece of equipment will boost my post-production workflow. I ordered mine from B& H Photo Video in New York City.

March 2023: Police Week K-9 Flyer

For the second year in a row the National Police Dog Foundation has selected one of my images for use on its flyer for the upcoming 2023 Police K-9 Memorial Service. This event is held at the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington, DC during Police Week every year. This image was taken during the 2022 Memorial Service.

March 2023: Washington DC Power Bartender

Meet Joe. Joe is a professional bartender at The Dubliner Irish Pub in Washington, DC's Capitol Hill. Joe knows the stakes. The Dubliner gets visited by D.C's power brokers and politicos and its not a place for rookies or touristy gimmicks. Serious pub for serious people and Joe treats them that way. Joe is a pro.

March 2023: Japanese Whisky Bottle Shoot

Beverage and Bottle photography is a keen interest of mine and when I learned that Japan made whisky and that their bottles are themselves works of creativity I decided to see for myself. Toki Suntory Whisky and six whiskey stones set on a colorful slate base was the setting. I used two Westcott softboxes with three Flashpoint / Godox strobes from Adoroma and B&H Photo Video for this shoot.

February 2023: Virginia's Full Nelson

About a half hour west of Charlottesville, Virginia lies Nelson County in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Shenandoah National Park. Nelson County is home to many breweries, wineries and distilleries to include the Blue Mountain Brewery. Blue Mountain brews a tasty pale ale called the Full Nelson. I am not a food stylist and I didn't sleep in a Holiday Inn Express. I am still experimenting with product photography, strobes, composition and styling but this was a fun project nonetheless.
